Becky’s Art from the Heart: Where Passion Meets Craftsmanship in Paulding County

Handcrafted with Love: Becky’s Journey from Passion to Purpose at The Dallas Markets

Walking into The Dallas Markets, you’ll find no shortage of creativity, but there’s one booth that truly radiates heart and soulBecky’s Art from the Heart. From handcrafted farmhouse signs and benches to custom cornhole boards and watercolor prints, every piece tells a story of passion, perseverance, and community.

A Lifetime Love for Art

Becky’s journey as an artist started before she could even spell “crafting.” At just 5 or 6 years old, she spent time in her family’s bait and tackle shop, drawing pictures and proudly taping them to the cash register. Visits to her grandmother’s house meant sketching cartoons straight from the Sunday paper, a routine that solidified her love for art.

As she grew older, this passion only deepened. High school art classes fueled her creativity, but life took a brief detour when her kids were born. Still, as any true artist knows—you can never stay away for too long. Before she knew it, Becky was back at it, crafting pieces that not only filled homes but also hearts.

From Hobby to Heartfelt Business

At first, Becky’s crafting was just that—a hobby. She started creating wood decor, hand-painted signs, benches, and even cornhole boards. Over the years, her work expanded into watercolor and acrylic paintings, proving that, for her, the sky is the limit when it comes to creativity.

But everything changed when her husband was diagnosed with Leukemia. The family faced uncertainty, and Becky even considered stepping away from her business to focus entirely on him. However, her husband wouldn’t hear of it. Instead, he encouraged her to continue, even finding his own therapy in building and crafting alongside her. What started as a side business became a second income, providing both financial and emotional support through the toughest of times.

15 Years at Paulding Meadows: A Dream Realized

For Becky, becoming a vendor at Paulding Meadows was more than just selling products—it was a full-circle moment. She had attended the festival as a high school student, dreaming of one day having her own booth. When that dream became reality, she found more than just customers—she found community.

One of her most memorable years at Paulding Meadows came after her husband’s Leukemia diagnosis. Instead of stepping back, she set up her booth with a sign supporting Leukemia awareness and handed out #ThackstonStrong wristbands to visitors. The outpouring of support from the community was overwhelming, proving that Paulding isn’t just a place—it’s a family.

Finding a Home at The Dallas Markets

After years of encouragement from friends to expand into The Dallas Markets, Becky finally made a visit. It only took one step through the doors to know: this was where she belonged.

The first year at TDM has been nonstop success, and she dreams of the day she can retire from her full-time job and dedicate herself to her art completely. Until then, her booth is a space filled with love, passion, and one-of-a-kind handmade pieces.
